Learn to navigate the complexity of ethical AI with this microcredential from UTS TD School and Law. Designed for non-technical business leaders, this course will prepare you to build a culture of ethical technological innovation within your workplace.

About this microcredential

Welcome to the fourth industrial revolution, where artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning increasingly shape the business landscape. As these technologies continue to evolve, organisations and service providers face increased risks around liability, consumer trust and civil and human rights.

For organisations, it’s critical that ethical decisions around machine learning and AI are driven by leaders rather than by technicians alone. This UTS Open short course prepares non-technical leaders to establish the conventions for ethical, safe and transparent technological processes and policies that will guide future workplace practice.

Course content is authentically transdisciplinary, spanning neurodiversity, innovation, law, business, technology, and social justice and inclusion. Through a combination of live workshops, peer-to-peer interaction and self-directed research, you’ll explore:

  • the underpinnings of AI
  • the importance of technological ethics
  • the impact of AI on human rights
  • ethical AI standards, frameworks and regulations
  • challenges to ethical decision making.

Key benefits of this microcredential

  • Equip you to develop a culture of ethical technological innovation within your organisation
  • Develop your understanding and ability to decrease AI risks and legal liabilities for your organisation
  • Strengthen your ability to build consumer trust and safeguard your organisation’s reputation
  • Immerse you in the latest thinking and approaches in transdisciplinary learning.

This microcredential aligns with the 3 credit point elective, Ethical AI for Good Business (94726) in the Graduate Certificate of Creative Intelligence and Strategic Innovation. This microcredential may qualify for recognition of prior learning at this and other institutions.
