The course is delivered entirely online. It involves a clinical mentoring component and a self-directed learning component.
The clinical mentoring component:
- Involves five 1-hour group sessions
- Each group has an internationally distinguished Lidcombe Program trainer and five speech pathologists
- For each group session, one group member presents a recent audio-visual recording of a Lidcombe Program video telehealth consultation
- The recording is used by the group for discussion during the session.
Self-directed learning is the theoretical part of the course. The self-directed learning component involves three learning modules:
- The Lidcombe Program treatment process
- The Lidcombe Program empirical base
- The Lidcombe Program in context.
Progress through these self-directed learning materials involves unfolding multiple-choice question pathways. Each response, regardless of whether it is the correct response, elicits a narrative for the learner.
