This Cisco Instructor Training Course prepares participants to become instructor-accredited and eligible to teach the CCNAv7: Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation (ENSA) course.

About this course

UTS has been an accredited Cisco Networking Academy and an important Instructor Training Centre (ITC) in the ANZ & Pacific Islands region for over 20 years. This 5-day equivalent course covers all the required technical and administrative elements of the Cisco instructor role and trains and assesses candidates to be accredited to teach the corresponding course at Cisco Networking Academies.

Additional course information 

Course outline

This course will be delivered in a blended mode due to the pandemic. It comprises 6 x 3 hour, workshop-style tutorial sessions delivered online during weekdays, and 5 x 3 hour, lab and assessment sessions delivered on campus on real hardware on Saturdays. The last two sessions are purely for assessments, feedback and exam resits.

The following key instructor elements will be included:

  • Technical requirements to teach the CCNAv7 ENSA course
  • Use of packet tracer for instruction, practice and assessment.

Potential instructors will be required to complete the following to pass the course:

  • Demonstrate their knowledge and skills of the course for instruction. This includes passing a written exam, a hardware-based, skills-based assessment (SBA) and the Cisco final exam (online).
  • Prepare a packet tracer practice activity for the other members of the group to evaluate.

Course learning objectives

By completing the CCNAv7 ENSA Instructor Training Course at UTS,  participants will be eligible to teach the corresponding CCNAv7 ENSA course.

Please note, this is not a UTS guarantee of employment for successful trainees.

Requirements

Mandatory

Candidates must have passed the Cisco CCNAv7 SRWE Instructor Training Course (Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials).

Before attending the CCNA Instructor training, it is expected that all instructor candidates:

  • Will be knowledgable about accessing the Cisco NetAcad website to successfully locate the curriculum and all online testing materials. Candidates will need to contact the trainers for the login account upon course registration.
  • Will have worked through the materials found at Cisco NetAcad website for the particular instructor course.
  • Will have read the corresponding CCNAv7 ENSA online curriculum and attempted all online module exams before the commencement of the course.

Desired

It will be assumed that the potential instructor is familiar with the CCNAv7 ENSA content by having worked through the materials found at the Cisco NetAcad website for the relevant instructor Course.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for anyone who is interested in certifying as an instructor in order to teach at Cisco Networking Academies. Participants may be casual academics, HDR student at UTS or another institute, or members of the Cisco Networking Academy community.
