Dr Christine Stephenson
UTS Industry Fellow and practising Enterprise and Business Architect

Christine has close to 20 years of experience as an Enterprise Architect and has worked in Government and the Private Sector across diverse sizes and industries.  She brings many years of experience into the classroom by sharing her knowledge through practical and hands-on activities using tools that are essential to good architecture practice.

Christine is highly respected in the Architecture community as a coach and mentor to many aspiring architects.  Her students find her engaging and generous in sharing stories of her successes and failures and offers helpful advice on how to overcome challenges with managing architecture practices.

This course will provide you with the basic practices and foundational principles needed to become a business architect. Through active learning, you will leverage expertise shared by a practicing business architect to develop proficiency in architecture skills and knowledge.

Course outline

This course will be delivered as a 2-day training course with flexible delivery options. The course consists of knowledge delivery and activities to ensure you understand the practical application of the material. 

You will learn how to apply the material in your workplace using a case study.  Active learning exercises are based on this case study.

The course consists of eight (8) modules delivered over the two (2) days.

Course learning objectives

By the end of the course, you should:

  1. Understand the basics of business architecture
  2. Know who your key stakeholders are and how to partner with them
  3. Know which business architecture models to use in the right business context to deliver responsive and adaptive insights
  4. Know how to create compelling story boards that saliently present the decisions that need to be made, to realise the business strategy
  5. Understand how to integrate business strategy planning with your business architecture work.

Requirements

Mandatory
To complete this online course, you will need access to a computer or device with adequate internet access and sufficient software and bandwidth to support web conferencing. You will also require an operating system with a web browser compatible with Canvas and Zoom.
