More Less

Transdisciplinary thinking is the new frontier of learning – imaginative, collaborative, and responsive to unprecedented societal change. Now, more than ever, there is a call to work across and between our disciplines to explore how learning collectively can help us tackle the issues of our times and leverage new opportunities. Understand how to make a creative contribution to fuel innovation through this unique course.

About this microcredential

How might we create novel learning environments that enable people – potentially working as distributed teams – to thrive on diversity and tackle complex challenges? How can we design meaningful, engaging learning programs that empower people to work together, explore ideas and approaches from different fields and thereby generate new insights and possibilities for action?

Increasingly, tackling these educational challenges – where there isn’t a simple ‘one size fits all’ approach – requires designing professional learning that transcends disciplinary or professional boundaries.

This interactive, online microcredential introduces transdisciplinary practices that bring together perspectives and knowledge from different stakeholders, professional fields and disciplines. This approach supports the creation of impactful, collaborative learning environments which inspire participants to innovate and address complex societal challenges.

Participants will explore a range of seminal ideas about transdisciplinary learning and change, to help recognise learning as it occurs in these diverse educational or professional learning settings and identify what enables these learning communities to thrive.

You will also be supported to develop and use models of transdisciplinary learning with sensitivity and creativity in your professional practice, whilst you explore catalysts for change.

The relevance and worth of these ideas will be tested, and participants will be tasked with generating transdisciplinary learning opportunities within their particular setting.

The learning and assessments are personalised to be directly related to participant’s practical on-the-job and day-to-day experiences.
