Sustainable development goals

An in-depth session on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, including the background and purpose of the SDGs and how they relate to government, industry, businesses and communities across the world.

About this course

This is part of a series of short modular online session being delivered by the United Nations Association of Australia (NSW) and UTS. The sessions can be taken individually on areas of specific interest, or combined for a wide-ranging introduction to key features and elements of the UN.

Course structure

Each 60-minute session consists of a detailed presentation from a leading UNAA facilitator on the topic interspersed with interactive discussions and Q&A segments.

We are currently running five modular sessions:

  1. Introduction and Structure of the United Nations
  2. Sustainable Development Goals
  3. UN History
  4. UN Charter and Universal Declaration of Human Rights
  5. UN Agencies

Learning outcomes

Introduce the Sustainable Development Goals and explain the background and their implications.

Who is this course for?

This course is part of a series intended for and accessible to any participant who is interested in learning more about the UN, UNAA, and some key activities and challenges facing the UN.
